Agile Mumbai 2010 Conference
Agile Mumbai 2010 will hosted by Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering, Mumbai on the 16th and 17th Jan 2010.ASCI understands that Agile is now quite well known in IT companies. The general goal of Agile awareness and adoption has been met. This year we want to focus on practitioners, who have been there, done that, and want to explore the future of Agile.     Workshop on How to Write Research Papers for Publication
    A Workshop on ‘How to write the Research Paper for Publication’ with Hands on Practice for writing the papers to be conducted by Dr. T.S. Rathore, Professor & Dean, SFIT on Tuesday, 9th December ’08 from 2.30 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. at MPSTME. Dr. H.B. Kekre will also give the inputs during the Workshop.

    Oracle WorkForce Development Training
    MPSTME to conduct Oracle WDP training from 28th April 2008 to 10th May, 2008. Two modules, each of 40 hrs duration to be covered during the period. The two modules are : 1. Introuction to Oracle 9i: SQL and 2. Oracle 9i: Database Administration Fundamentals - I .Students enrolling get an Certificate of Completion of Training from Oracle and are eligibile to apply for the online test leading to OCA degree.

    Agile Mumbai 2008 Conference
    Agile Mumbai 2008 will be hosted by Mukesh Patel School of Technology Management & Engineering, Mumbai on the 28th and 29th March 2008. Agile Mumbai 2008 will be the second two day conference in Mumbai. Last year's conference was more of an introductory conference. This year plan is to have only indepth tutorials and workshops from reputed National and International Experts. The purpose of this conference is to provide indepth experience to participants and to take their knowledge regarding Agile to the next level.

  • NCICT-2008
    Today one can see the wide applications of information and communication technology (ICT) in the sectors such as service, business, healthcare, education, entertainment, defense, etc. Wide applications of ICT in these areas have given not only the momentum to the sun rising technology but also created the boundary less world. Keeping this in mind, we have been organizing the National Conference (NCICT) every year in February / March since 2006. NCICT – 2008 is third in series and is planned on 29th February & 1st March 2008.

    Paragana
    The annual business seminar was organized on November 30, 2005 at the ITC Grand Maratha Sheraton with the Police Commissioner of Mumbai, Mr. A.N.Roy as the Chief Guest. In keeping with India's fast paced growth and positive outlook, the theme for the event was 'India Evolving A Montage of Promises'. Gracing the occassion were eminent speakers from the industry and the government.The event was attended by over 750 students. The engaging & inspiring seminar was followed by a corporate dinner, where the students interacted with leading beacons of the industry. Nepathya, the Performing Arts Cell provided a final touch to the evening by staging the play, 'The Night of January 16th' by Ayn Rand.
    Conquest
    Oragnised by the Marketing Cell of NMIMS, it is a set of simulation games conducted by the students. It was held at Times Utsav from October 11-23, 2005, at the Bandra Kurla Complex Grounds. The simulation games were developed around market research projects received from various corporate houses so as to find solutions to the identified problems by developing a better understanding of consumer behaviour. The findings of the research were then presented at the 5th Global Conference in Business and Economics held at Cambridge, UK.
    Big Fight
    On the Occassion of World Human Rights Day, December 10,2005 a special debate on today's youth and direction they are headed in, was organized in the institute campus. Bringing forth the view of the media and its influence on the youth was the renowned filmmaker, Mr.Mahesh Bhatt, representing the teachers was Dr. Aneeta Madhok, Ms. Pratibha Naithani was invited to bring forth the views of a Social Activist. The parent point of view was put forth by Mr. R Bhaskaran, CEO Indian Institute of Banking and Finance & the students were represented by Manan Shah of NMIMS.
    Sadbhavana '06
    The Social Responsibility Forum (SRF) was formed wih an objective to provide a platform to various NGOs, functions with the idea to get away from the 'Cheque Philanthropy' and facilitate building skills for earning a livelihood. Organised between March 23-25, 2006 with the objective of spreading social awareness amongst managers of tommorrow and to help NGOs fund their activities.
    Investcraft 2006
    was an initiative of the students of MBA in Capital Markets of NMIMS and The Stock Exchange Education and Research Services to provide a platform to share knowledge and information. The seminar was based around the key theme - Securities.
    'Equity invesments An Indian Perspective'. The eminent speakers were Mr. Rajnikant Patel; CEO, BSE Ld., Mr. U.K.Sinha; Chairman, UTI Securities Ltd, Mr. Ramdeo Agarwal from Motiwal Oswal, Mr. Ramesh Damani. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. K.R.Choksey;Promoter and Chairman of K.R.Choksey Securities.
    The seminar was attended by members from the investment community and by corporate leaders. As organizers of the event we believe we were successful in polishing ours as well as the audience's 'investment craft' and hope to make this an annual event.
    Annual Dinner
    As a culmination of the various city chapters, the annual Alumni Dinner was organised on November 26,2005. This being the Twenty-fifth year since the institute's inception, there was a special ceremony where the first batch was invited and felicitated.
    Sleight o' Mind
    Instituted in 2004,SoM provides the fresh batch of students the first platform for interaction with the corporate world. This Corporate Gaming Event, held on September 3, 2005, invited teams from various corporate houses to play the simulation games created by the First Year students of NMIMS. The driving force behind an event of such a magnitude is to increase the student-corporate interface and showcase the infrastructure of NMIMS, resource scalability and creativity of the students.
    Euphoria
    The Annual Cultural Festival, our Edutainment fair stresses on having fun while testing skills in various aspects of management. Euphoria this year kicked off on March 7, 2006 with Class of '84, a play performed by Rahul Da Cunha's troupe. Other highlights included a special screeing of Rang De Basanti for NMIMS where the Director Mr. Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra held a special Q&A session with the students; a concert by the fusion band Indian Ocean; and quizzes conducted by Pranab Mukherjee in the field of Sports, Entertainment, General Knowledge and Management. Each cell of the college used this platform to design and show-case various games.
    XION '06
    The Annual Cultural Festival, Edutainment Fair stresses on having fun while testing skills in various aspects of the cultural side. XION kicked off with a pronite where all danced to beats of a famous DJ. Events like singing, dancing, T-Shirt and Wine glass painting etc. were conducted. A fashion show was organized to conclude the 3 day long festival, Madhuri Dixit graced the occassion.
    XPONENT '06
    The Technical Festival of our School began sparkingly with a demonstration of "Bomb Disposal System" by Mumbai Police. Participants tried their luck by investing in Virtual Stock Market (supported by sharekhan). Hovercraft modelings, Pronite, Robotics, and Technical Paper Presentation were the events of the festival.
